IN keeping with customer demands, Magnum Packaging has invested in a new high-speed auto gluing machine.
Magnum Packaging, a supplier of solid board and flute packaging solutions, has revealed their latest investment, a super speed auto gluing machine. The Speed Wave XL 1100 Series automatic high-speed intelligent folding gluing machine has a sleek design and unparalleled performance that has revolutionised the way Magnum Packaging produce cartons.
The folder gluer boasts a strong, stainless-steel frame that ensures stability of the machine structure. Combined with new advanced technology and controlled by a memory system, the machine can store different data models based on different shapes and styles of cartons, increasing efficiency and accuracy. ‘Cartons are now produced at lightning-fast speeds, without compromising on quality through even and consistent glue application. There is increased flexibility for us to take on a wider range of products with advanced auto gluing settings,’ comments factory manager Selwyn de Jongh. He says this folder gluer can process straight line boxes, crash lock bottom boxes, double wall boxes, tapered boxes and 4/6 corner boxes with paperboard at a maximum of 1 100mm as well as A-, B- and E-flute boxes.
The easily accessible side touch screen displays the machine’s speed, output and fault alarm and controls the machine’s start/stop, paper-feeding clutch, box receiving part’s start/stop, parameter settings and other operations. ‘This investment has significantly widened our production capacity. We can now produce more boxes in a shorter amount of time and meet the needs of our customers faster and more efficiently,’ remarks managing director Allan Naicker.
The built-in automatic fault diagnosis alarm system assists with quicker detection of issues in the operation of the folding gluer. ‘Quality control is also improved as the glue applied on cartons is done so in a precise
manner, reducing the risk of defects and errors in the finished product,’ reports technical director Kobus Meyer. ‘A decreased number in defects means a reduced number of waste cartons which saves us costs and also helps minimise our environmental impact.’
